One New Year resolution will have to be to blog more frequently: I find it hard to believe that my last blog on this site was in April! Since then I have attended summer school in Jena in Germany and had a wonderful time with a great bunch of people. Below is a photo taken after a guided tour of Erfurt the capital of Thuringia a beautiful city steeped in history. Shortly after the picture was taken…I knocked the glass of iced tea over, spilling its contents over the table and everyone close by. Fortunately, a charming young waiter sprang to the rescue, cleared up the mess and provided me with a fresh drink at no extra charge. Now that’s what I call service!
Exams followed and fortunately, all the hard work paved off. In December the results were published on the Open University Students website showing that I had passed with good marks in both course work and exams. This was the final module of the course I have been studying for the past umpteen years, which means that I now have a BA (Hons) in Modern Language Studies.
