One thing I have not done in 2015 is keep a regular blog…however, here are a few achievements during the year that are perhaps worth a mention.
January. Started the year with an adventure across Australia…starting at Perth on the W est Coast…I flew up to Broome…crossed to Darwin where I caught the Ghan train to Alice Springs. Spent too short a time with Buddy an orphaned Joey before flying
down to Melbourne for Midsumma Carnival to help out with the Vintage Men’s and a chance to sing with the Melbourne Gay and Lesbian Chorus on Australia Day at Mount Macedon. Wonderful!
February. Began work with New Vic Theatre Ages and Stages Company…which led to my involvement with Keel University initiative CASIC (community animation and social innovation centre). I love working with the New Vic and find its relationship with Keele University stimulating and rewarding.
Members of the LGBT Older People’s Group…joined me in some of these activities and got just as much fun and useful knowledge as I did. The group has met every month…even when I was away…and has enjoyed some fabulous outings like the trip to Shrewsbury and the boat trip on the Caldon canal. We also participated fully in Stoke Pride as well as helping out with research projects.
